Thurs, May 1. Avenue Q was amazing, though the tallest man in the world sat directly in front of me for the first half of the show. As much as I have heard the music on the cd, it was amazing to see how much I thought I knew about it was wrong. So hilarious! and the set was amazing!

Fri, May 2. After approximately 3 hours of nap time, we lept from bed and began the mad struggle to get ready and leave the house for several days. We arrive at the airport at 4 am, as we are told that if I come any later than 2 hours before my flight that I am absolutely screwed.

Thus we sat for an hour and a half in an empty terminal waiting, because everyone else knew better. My first plane experience was interesting. Excitement with a tinge of 'please don't let me vomit right now'. The excitement wore off and I fell asleep later on my JFK to Tampa leg of the excursion.

oh, and as for the layover? HA! We booked ass off the plane from buffalo and finally showed up panting at the gate for tampa and they weren't even boarding yet. Bitches! And several people on the buffalo plane managed to saunter over lazily as well to make it on time.

We arrived in tampa EARLY. By the time mel and her current plaything came to pick us up, I had already managed to rip the duffel bag that I purchased for air travel along the seams. Bitches!

The greatest omelettes ever at a small diner were followed by checkin to our awesome hotel.

"the most awesome in tampa!" We quickly made our way down to the pool and started ordering up the margaritas.





Dinner that night was in Ybor - a cute little village full of tattoo parlors, cigar shops and bars. I loved it. After walking around a bit we had dinner (and more margaritas) at this awesome restaurant. They had a little old black lady in a wheelchair in the restroom who liked to chat as well. I gave her a quarter.



Back to the hotel for a nap before going out (hellooo 3 hours of sleep?) and then out to an interesting lesbian bar back in Ybor. Lauren refused to wake up so she didn't go. We watched the "mel show" wherein all of Mel's people just kept floating by and talking.

Hotel. SLEEP! yes!



The next day begins the pain. I say that because we took Jess's rented convertible out to Clearwater beach wherein we learned that the spreading of sunblock needs to be a very thorough thing indeed.


Patches of red allover the body, like a camoflauge sunburn, followed. The back of my knees were apparently missed and lauren somehow got sunpoisoning (rash all over her legs).


Back at the Hotel, Jess and I go Jetskiing for an hour. THe guy who ran the place was a total burnout and sorta explained 'don't go over there, make sure you follow the no wake rules, if you run it aground, just get out and push.' What? what are the no wake zones? what do you mean don't go 'over there?' i think he went and took a nap when we left.




Jess left at 3 am the next mornin and we spent the day with mel, drivin around to her friends house. we saw an air show, and then went to chilis for the greatest margaritas that we had the whole weekend. I even stole a margarita shaker. SHHHH

All in all i believe we spent over $200 on the margaritas alone. Sweet ass trip people!

And now we are home. Woot!

Friday we are going to the Toronto Zoo. My aunt and cousin were going to come with us, but apparently not.

My parents are coming up to visit my grandparents that day as well. Haven't gotten to see them for a while, so Saturday after work I'm headin directly up to see them. Probably spend the night at my grams and come back sunday afternoon.

Lauren has about 200 scribbles on her calendar for the monday through thursday of that week - all those scribbles being final this due, rough this due, presentation this, etc. In other words, don't talk to her or she may flip her lid.

The 24th is our 3 year anniversary. (3 years? that seems like such a short period of time, and yet neither of us have ever made it this long!) I feel like we've been together forever.

the 26th is the next Battle at Buffalo.

the 1st is Avenue Q at Sheas.

THe 2nd we somehow make it to the airport at 4 am and head to Florida.

WHEW~! what a busy time of year?

Oh and then when we get back we GET A PUPPY!!!

Yesterday I went to work only to discover that I didn't need to go to work today. Yeah I drove all the way to Lockport and found out that the schedule didn't have me on it. Vacation day!

But I guess it was not a total waste. I went to Niagara Produce and gassed up at Smokin Joes. Not that the gas I spent on driving up there didn't overturn the savings, but whatever.

I spent like 3 hours painting. I Love how time flies when i'm focusing all my attention on a canvas. I also love painting abstractly - its very meditative. Very serene. As (e:lauren)'s pompous ex told me once "abstract art is the only true art" (blah blah blah)... I should probably erase that before she reads it.

I got upset later when I didn't put my headphones away while i was doing other stuff. When I came back to them my asshole cat ate through the wires. Seriously... he is like a teething puppy! Asshole.

Dance class... Now officially Wednesdays and Fridays. And heather has officially begun to push me and yell at me as I asked her to. Dammit why did i do that? getting into shape hurts.

i (e:mrmike) comment about jobs at the zoo. I reeaaally wish i could have that as a part time job. I loves me some zoo!

Once again posting instead of gettin ready for work...

Had an awesome time last night. We had a great time dining on sausages and asparagas and more importantly - the dead body lentils. mmm nothing says lovin like the previous house guests in the oven!

Tonight when I get home from work I believe i will paint. (E:lauren) better be busy with schoolwork! i've got a hankerin!

I am picking up a guest from the airport tonight. She will be in town for the weekend.
tomorrow i have to work all day and then we have the battle at buffalo! then maybe out? who knows...
and i think on sunday i'm going to go to the psychic fair.

last night (e:lauren) and i went to our dance class and found that (!!) we got to do a floor class instead of our normal cardio dance class! as in we actually learned breakdancing moves like spinning on your back, the six step and some baby freezes. it basically was like spending an hour and a half rolling around on the floor. so awesome! I felt as though this is the part that i'vebeen waiting for. it felt so... satisfying!
i am really excited for it, and i think that we are definetely going to start going mondays AND wednesdays to class.

i am a bit sore in the shoulders today though.

i actually just heard the sound of a bird outside. haven't looked outside yet, but it gives me that warm and 'spring will come one day' feeling. hoorah for spring! one day! lol

excitement!

there seems to be nothing better than procrastinating getting showered and out the door to work. I do this every morning. sit in front of the computer wayyyy tooo long and then run around like an idiot trying to get my stuff together for work.
but seriously... you can't rush estrip.


i'm very excited for tomorrow night. dance dance dance! my aunts and cuz will be showing up before we go out, as will some of lauren's friends. We are heading down to Marcellas early... as in probably 9 or 10 ish.
Please tell me that
a) the club will be open and
b) there will be a couple of people there before midnight.

i know its early but my aunties are early bar birds.

But we will be staying out all night! well maybe not all night.
